Friendly Shore Award for Malbork and Elbląg
The competition is organized by the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society together with the Polish Sailing Association and other partners, under the patronage of the minister of sport and tourism. The prize rewards the investments and other initiatives which make shores of Polish lakes, rivers, sea and channels more human-friendly. Every year rewarded are the projects related to water tourism, such as the construction and modernization of sailing marinas and boathouses, investment programs including cities, regions, waterways, actions of individuals, clubs and associations, governments and other institutions and organizations.
Among the prize winners are the initiatives and cities related to IWW E70. City of Elblag received the prize for "sailing gate" to the Vistula Lagoon, Elblag Canal and the Iławsko-Ostródzkie Lake District, and Malbork "for enriching the city, which is a major tourist attraction, with an offer for sailors". In addition, a city of Włocławek was among the winners of the Friendly Shore Award for the construction of a "professional marina" in a key place of the Vistula trail.
