Recently work is being carried out in the yacht marina involving wall construction and roofing of a hangar and building for port service with sanitary-social facilities. Also 6 piles were driven in, to which a floating platform for 13 yachts will eventually be attached. In the next work stage, a storage building and a site for yacht wintering will also be constructed. Plans for the near future include the purchase and installation of a port crane – necessary for the port’s functioning, with a 12-ton lift and lifting height of 12 m. To improve service at the port, an integrated system of fee collection is also being prepared, which will allow users 24-hour access to the sanitary-utility facilities, i.e. toilets, showers, washer-dryers. The system is intended to be accessible through an application as well as cards, enabling cash-free use of services. Completion of the investment implementing the fee collection system is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2022. The investor of the above-mentioned work is the Municipality of Krynica Morska, which is implementing the project entitled “Żuławy Loop – development of the yacht marina in Krynica Morska”.
Parallel to the development of facilities and equipment of the yacht marina, advanced work is also being carried out related to the lengthening of a passenger jetty, as well as the construction of wharves and reinforcement of the escarpment. The main purpose of this undertaking is to limit excessive waves in the port and shallowness by the passenger jetty. In order to prevent this, the jetty has been lengthened by 65 m (sheet piling was driven in, with the space subsequently filled in). This led to a reduction in width of the port entrance and should therefore bring about calming of the waves. This will also allow more mooring places for small passenger ships to be made available. It is possible that this work will be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2022. The task is carried out by the Maritime Office in Gdynia in the framework of the project entitled “Krynica Morska – development of a passenger jetty in the sea fishing port”.
