On Saturday 10 June 2023, the waters of the Vistula Lagoon hosted the latest Regatta for the Marshal’s Cup, organised jointly by the regional governments of Pomorskie and Warmińsko – Mazurskie Voivodeships. In Krynica Morska, which was the Regatta’s partner and port, 17 crews readied for the competition.
The participants took part in three categories: KWR1, KWR2 and OPEN. The weather conditions were demanding and due to the strong winds, only one race was conducted. In the KWR1 group, the winner was the yacht “Kompiss” with helmsman Grzegorz Pionke. The second place was taken by “Metal_loft_tol” with Mariusz Idzikowski, and in the third place “Another Go” with Marek Florianowicz at the helm. Marian Drabiński on “Litwinka” turned out to be the best in KWR2, ahead of “Pallas” with Tomasz Sontowski and Jerzy Lampe on “Slocum”. In the OPEN group, the fastest was Mirosław Zemke, ahead of Marcin Malewicki on “Flying Banana”. In the third place arrived the yacht “Delphine” with helmsman Zygmunt Zander. This event is not only a splendid form of sporting rivalry, but above all great fun for sailing enthusiasts. For the regatta participants there were souvenirs, cups and awards. The youngest, future sailors were not forgotten either. In the yacht port a picnic was organised, at which many attractions were prepared, including children’s entertainment, cartoon mascots, creative workshops, inflatable trampolines, competitions with prizes and many surprises! At the special stand of the Żuławy Loop – Paddle Visit Relax, one could find out about the water routes of Żuławy rivers and the Vistula Lagoon. As a conclusion to the regatta, the band The Nierobbers performed a repertoire of the best-known shanties. It is worth emphasizing that through such events, the good-neighbourly relations of Pomerania with Warmia and Mazury are built. This is also enhanced by the water infrastructure being created in the two regions.
