On 12 – 14 September 2024, the Pomorskie Voivodeship hosted members of the team for the development of the Polish section of the International Waterway E70. In addition to the hosts, this study visit was attended by representatives from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie and Wielkopolskie Voivodeships. We also invited representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure and from institutions involved in water issues, i.e. RZGW (Regional Water Management Authority) Gdańsk, the Inland Navigation Authority and the Marine Office.
On the first day, a meeting of invited participants took place. The main item was a meeting of the Team for the development of the government programme defining measures aimed at modernising and maintaining the International Waterway E70. The discussion focused on the programme’s main objective and its specific objectives, as well as the intention to expand it to include transport issues.
As part of the planned site visit, the guests learned about the achievements and investment projects that were carried out in the Pomorskie Voivodeship in the context of inland navigation. The guests visited the marinas and harbour quays. They also had the opportunity to explore these sites from the water during a short cruise.
The participants rated the visit as successful and contributing a lot to the collaboration within our team. Next year’s visit will be hosted by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship.
