The main topic of the meeting was the presentation of results obtained in the Analysis of spatial, environmental and physiographic conditions for the connection of the Oder-Vistula waterway. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Office of Spatial and Regional Planning in Włocławek, as the coordinator of the work on the study, presented results of the analysis of spatial conditions regarding the appropriateness and feasibility of establishing a new course of the E70 International Waterway on the Oder-Vistula section. The participants of the meeting decided that the presented material needs to be supplemented, especially as regards the information contained on the maps and the summary of the analysis conducted in the form of a graphical presentation.
The aim of the above mentioned analysis is to collect, in the form of a single and consistent document, materials possessed by and available to the planning services of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Lubuskie and Wielkopolskie Voivodeships, which are the substantive basis for drawing up, at a later stage , an analytical and conceptual part of the Study, the purpose of which will be determining variants for the course of IWW E70 on the Oder-Vistula section while maintaining at least class IV navigability, providing diagnosis, multi-criteria analysis, parameterisation and evaluation of variants, including the estimation of costs of their implementation, and indicating a variant recommended for further studies.
In addition, issues were raised concerning the entering into agreements on taking actions to revitalise and promote the Polish section of the E70 International Waterway by 2022 and the signing of a declaration on the cooperation of voivodeships for the following years 2021-2025.
