At the end of August 2022, construction of a sailing marina on the Tuga in Nowy Dwór Gdański was finished. As part of the project “Żuławy Loop – improving the accessibility of Nowy Dwór Gdański by waterway”, a 36-metre mooring platform was built, equipped with pedestals with a hydro-electric connection along the surface wall of the sailing marina.
Additionally, the ground floor premises of the County Starost Office have been renovated (from the west and south – under the terrace) for the needs of the seasonal harbour master, with unattended toilets, showers and a large drying room. In the autumn-winter period, the converted rooms will be furnished with necessary equipment, including cupboards, tables, chairs and household appliances, which will allow the centre’s proper functioning.
The area around the marina and terrace with a surface of 300 m2 was also redeveloped, with the inclusion of rest elements such as shelters with picnic tables, bicycle stands and a tool kit for basic repairs, e.g. flat wrenches, Allen keys and a pump.
The harbour master’s premises and accompanying infrastructure will be made available to boaters and residents from the new boating season. The investment with a value of nearly 2.6 million PLN was executed as part of the strategic undertaking of Pomorskie Voivodeship “Development of water tourism in the area of the Żuławy Loop and Gdańsk Bay”. Of this amount, 85% was financed by funds of the Regional Operational Program for Pomorskie Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020 and 15% from the budget of Nowy Dwór County.
