Toruń hosts a meeting of the IWW E70 team

The members of our team met on 12 July in order to discuss several matters of priority. On the meeting agenda was outlining a new framework of cooperation concerning revitalisation of IWW E70 for the years 2023-2025, discussing a plan for this year’s activities and key challenges connected to the International Waterway E70.

It was the first meeting of the working group in 2023, except for online meetings. The exchange of opinions and thoughts related to the cooperation and activities of the team was very fruitful and allowed one to outline a plan of undertakings for the near future.

Also discussed were matters related to water cleanliness and protection of the natural environment along the waterways connecting our regions.

The extent of implementation of work on the IWW E70 section was presented in the framework of Territorial Contracts between the central government and regional governments in 2022. This led to a discussion of which the conclusions are not comforting, as many planned investments have been delayed because of a lack of funding.
